2017年3月7，8日两天，高二学生迎来了首次升学指导一对一面试。
此次面试特别邀请中加学校常驻留学申请顾问Mr. Bob与学生和家长会面。

On March 7 and 8, 2017, Mr. Bob, the CCSC schools counselor interviewed Grade 11 students together-with their parents to discuss their plans for transition into universities.
CCSC schools are the only schools that provide university entry counseling services to students and parents.
此次Mr.Bob来访主要针对高二学生进行留学整体规划初步说明，并且一对一对学生意向专业及学校进行了摸底了解，最后Mr.Bob 帮助学生为9月份选择大学需要做的准备工作进行了完整的规划。
Mr. Bob explained the purpose of his visit. He gathered basic information about each student’s preferred university, and desired field of study. He informed the students and the parents of the entry requirements and plans of entry they need to prepare by September 2017. Finally, he explained clearly the procedures which the students need to follow when submitting their applications.
Mr. Bob首先提出不论学生想申请加拿大、美国还是英国或者澳洲大学，学校看重的是学生的GPA（Grade Point Average）即学生平均成绩点数。GPA包含高中课程体系中的数学，物理，化学，生物及社会学五门课的平均成绩。也就意味着如果学生想要申请有竞争力的专业及排名较为靠前的专业，该生必须GPA需达到85分以上。
Mr. Bob explained clearly that regardless where the student apply, in Canada, USA. UK or Australia, the university acceptance will be based on the student’s GPA (Grade Point Average) in Math, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and Social Sciences. Mr. Bob explained that universities with good world ranking, and some majors require a GPA of 85 or higher.
除了GPA占很重要的比例外，其他决定学生能否成功申请的条件还有以下三个重要因素：
1.学生高中阶段学科成绩需全部及格；
2.，方可获得该毕业证）;
3.英语语言成绩：雅思6.5以上或者托福成绩90分以上。
Mr. Bob explained the three conditions have to be fulfilled to receive the university’s Letter of Offer：
1.Pass school transcripts ;
2. High school diploma by New Brunswick Department of Education (Which means every students has to pass the ESLA exams which are held in June );
3. Provide English proficiency:All universities accept only IELTS or TOFEL ;(Minimum requirement of IELTS overall band 6.5 and TOFEL 90)
Mr.Bob特别强调英语为非母语国家学生想要申请加拿大大学有效的雅思或托福成绩至关重要，它是决定学生本科学年的重要因素。
以雅思考试为例，申请加拿大国家：
► 如果雅思成绩6.5分及以上，学生直接申请并且就读本科学分课程；
► 如果6.5分以下，申请大学会要求学生上大学桥梁课程，即上语言课程的同时选修个别学分课程；
►如果学生雅思成绩低于5.5分，学生需先就读语言学校（Second Language School）并且多修一年EAP语言课程。
故考虑经济成本及时间成本，Bob建议高中毕业前提供至少5.5分的雅思成绩，以缩短国外本科上课时间。
Mr. Bob pointed out that good IELTS or TOFEL results are the major factors to decide how many years of studying abroad the student will need.
For example, students can directly enter into full time universities with IELTS overall band of 6.5.
However,For those below 6.5 but above 5.5,they will be required to study bridging course before entering into full time university.
Worst case scenario,students might be required to learn at Second Language School until they are qualified to take bridging courses.
Bob为学生一一规划留学准备工作：
►积极备考雅思并7月份进行首次雅思考试，9月份升学办公室根据学生雅思成绩及高二下学期成绩单，分别对学生推荐8-10所理想学校。
►和家长商议后，12月15日之前递交6所大学的申请材料。3月份进行补充资料递交。
Mr. Bob recommend all grade 11 students to be ready for the IELTS exam in July. He will recommend 8 to 10 universities for students and parents to choose based on English proficiency test results and school transcripts for the last 5 semesters.After research,parents choose 6 universities to apply to.
For all universities ,the last day of applying is 15th of December. We will submit all the applications.In March, we will submit the supplementary documents.
